Mcdonald's Aims To Open 1,100 Mccafés Across Europe

Part of McD's low cost expansion plan

(Thursday, September 24, 2009) - McDonald's (MCD) plans to open around 1,100 of McCafés across Europe. The existing cafés are located inside restaurants but with a separate counter. Next year, the company plans to open more, with an eye toward becoming numero uno coffee seller in Europe, BusinessWeek reported, citing Jerome Tafani, chief financial officer of McDonald's Europe.

Starbucks is currently Europe's top coffee chain with nearly 1,200 stores. But McDonald's strategy of opening McCafés improves its market position rapidly. The above source quoted Jeffrey Young, managing director of London management consultancy Allegra Strategies, stating: "McDonald's finally woke up and smelled the coffee. With the number of outlets it already has in place, it can take Starbucks head-on."

McDonald's is rushing to grab market share. It has opened its first Italian McCafé in Milan in 2005. At present it has 65 of them across the country. At McCafés in Paris, an espresso costs $2.50 compared to $2.80 at Starbucks, BusinessWeek stated.

Mcdonald's Rolls Out Angus Burgers

(Thursday, July 02, 2009) - McDonald's has launched its first new burger to its menu since 2001 with the new Angus Third Pounder, the company has announced.

The Angus Third Pounder is made to order with a third-pound of 100 percent Angus beef and fresh ingredients on a toasted bakery-style sesame seed roll. The new line is available in three offerings, including:

* Deluxe: One-third pound 100 percent Angus beef topped with mayonnaise, mustard, tomato slice, leaf lettuce, red onion, dill pickles and American cheese
* Bacon & Cheddar: One-third pound 100 percent Angus beef topped with ketchup, mustard, red onion, dill pickles, three bacon slices and American cheese
* Mushroom & Swiss: One-third pound 100 percent Angus beef topped with mayonnaise, sauteed mushrooms and slices of Swiss cheese

Southern California franchisee Mike Pernecky is credited as the inspiration behind the Angus Third Pounder. He wanted to offer a product for the most serious burger enthusiasts and worked with McDonald's to develop a burger that would "hit the spot." The Angus Third Pounder reinforces McDonald's long-standing commitment to quality, value and satisfying consumers' evolving tastes and needs.

In addition to high-quality Angus beef, it's the fresh produce that sets Angus apart. In fact, McDonald's introduced entirely new ingredients to the menu when it launched Angus, including:

* Rings of red onion
* Full slices of bacon
* Sautéed mushroom
* Natural Swiss cheese
* Bakery-style sesame seed buns

The Angus Third Pounder product launch, in test for two years, is the first new burger item from McDonald's since the Big N' Tasty burger was added to the menu in 2001. Mcdonald's Rolls Out Angus Burgers

Get started right away and make success happen in your life!

A McDonald's job application is probably one of the most popular searches in Google, Yahoo! and any other search engine this summer season. That is because McDonald's still remain one of the, if not the most popular and biggest fast food chains in the world. A lot of career opportunities are being offered by McDonald's and what better time to try one out than during summer vacation?

A lot of people who apply for a job application in McDonald's consist mostly of those who are teens in their summer vacation, most probably hunting for their first "real job" and expecting to land somewhere between fantasy land, and the McDonald's play place. But while McDonald's is an adorable place and well-loved by kids, working there is just like working for any other place. It requires hard work and discipline.

A lot of people don't often realize that McDonald's is not a place where they could slack off while making a few bucks. over the years, McDonald's has established high standards not only with their products, but also with their employees all over the world. so if you're looking for a place where you'll be trained and have fun at the same time, there's no better place to apply for a job than in McDonald's.

And a great advantage of working in McDonald's is that we're all so familiar with the quality of the food and service, and we're comfortable with the kind of environment it provides us. If you are applying for a job in McDonald's then you're going to adjust quickly because we all know what they're all about so we'd have a heads up.

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles onions on a sesame seed bun.

That combination of words used to be very popular back in the day when McDonald's was an up-and-coming franchise and they are actually the ingredients of the Big Mac. This was a time when jobs at McDonald's are very popular with everybody from teens to retirees to moms or anybody that needed a part-time gig.

These days McDonald's jobs are popular because the economy is in the tank. Anywhere you look you see the effects of unemployment and how it is hurting people. Fortunately companies such as McDonald's still have employment opportunities and although they might not be six-figure jobs they do generate income in order to pay some or even all of your bills.

The entry-level positions at McDonald's certainly pay above average and management positions although they take time to get, pay very well with nice benefits and a great retirement plan.

Many people consider a job at a fst food franchise a low-level position.

Don't let that affect your mind when your pocketbook is affected in such a negative way. Consider that there are opportunities at McDonald's and other fast food restaurants that can help almost anyone.

So if you're looking for a job today in the economy and to your family as bad as it has hit many families if you are part of the 11% unemployment rate that is now affecting our country consider that an opportunity for you and your family to get out of the hole.

You'll feel better about yourself you'll feel better about your pocketbook and you never know it could become a long term career move.
